(‘Missing a Note’, directed by Beth Moran, casts Darcy Jacobs in the role of ‘Molly’)

Fact Not Fiction Films has confirmed that their next short film ‘Missing a Note’ has cast the role of young singer Molly Groves to Darcy Jacobs (aged 11). Darcy has performed as young Cosette in ‘Les Misérables’ (Queen’s Theatre, London’s West End) and is currently appearing in Sam Mendes’ and Jez Butterworth’s ‘The Ferryman’ as Mercy Carney (Gielgud Theatre, London’s West End).

‘Missing a Note’ follows striving opera extraordinaire, John O’Connell, who, after being forced to give up his successful singing career, takes up examining in a desperate bid to fulfil his love of singing. As young Molly Groves embarks on her first singing exam before the retired opera legend, John’s now diminishing short- term memory means Molly is in for a few puzzling surprises in this charming short drama.

Director, Beth Moran said:

We are very excited to have Darcy Jacobs on board to play the role of Molly in ‘Missing a Note’. Darcy is already an extremely talented actress/singer at the young age of 11, with a very impressive track record. As well as having a remarkable singing voice, she exudes a level of maturity and professionalism which I am personally looking forward to experiencing on set.
